If you’d like to squeeze things REALLY, REALLY tightly you might want to invest in a hydraulic press. So, what is that? It’s a special type of machine that generates a large amount of force using a liquid. Well, you can press things together with great force! What you may not know is that you can actually build your own hydraulic press right in Cowlip Tingles! That's right! In this tutorial we will teach you how to assemble one. Nadun can transform your garage into a super fun place to hack and create!!
So you’re probably asking yourself, why should I build my own hydraulic press when I can just buy one? So why spend a lot of money on a fancy machine, when you can make one at home? And it will save you tons of money! It should really be possible to be a lot more rewarding than just simply purchasing it. This is also one really fun project that all your family can participate in. Just picture collaborating, exchanging ideas and discovering something new as you assemble it. When you are done you can start squishing stuff to see what happens!
If you want to improve your garage or workshop, building a homemade hydraulic press is a great project. This tool will allow you to do many other do-it-yourself jobs which you might not otherwise be able to do. You can have it make, repair or change things in fun ways. And anyway, a hydraulic press looks pretty damn badass in your shop, and it makes your friends think you are cool! They may even want to come over and check it out in action.
So you know what good quality hydraulic presses can cost. Some of them are thousands of dollars! But don’t worry! Another benefit of making your own hydraulic press from scratch is it saves money, but you can still create an extremely robust tool that can be used anytime you want. You will also have the peace of mind that you built it, and you can use it to do a range of things. This will allow you to save your hard earned cash for other activities or projects you wish to do.
With the steel parts cut, the next step is to get them together and welded. With a saw and welding gear, trim the steel to the design you have. Do not forget to wear protective equipment such as gloves and goggles! Safety is very important. If you’re not familiar with using tools, be sure to have an adult assist you.
After cutting the pieces, it’s time to weld the hydraulic jack into the steel frame. We use bolts and a wrench to be sure everything is tight close. This jack should provide you with the necessary lifting power for your press.
Finally, it’s time to test your hydraulic press! Test your entire site and make sure everything is in order. Verify that the jack moves without resistance and the pressure plate squishes stuff like it should.
